What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. It lets the site recognise your browser on a later visit. This policy also covers similar technologies — local storage, session storage and pixels — which do much the same job.

The three kinds we use

1. Strictly necessary

These are set without asking, because without them the service does not work. They do not track you and are not used for advertising. They cover:

• keeping you signed in as you move between pages;
• keeping your session secure and protecting against cross-site request forgery;
• balancing traffic across our servers;
• remembering the cookie choice you made, so we do not ask again on every page.

These last from the end of your browser session up to twelve months, depending on the cookie. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for.

2. Analytics

Only set if you accept them. These tell us which parts of the tool people actually use — how many get as far as the preview frames, where a flow is abandoned, which camera moves are chosen. We use this to decide what to fix. It is aggregated, we do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not use it for advertising. Typical lifetime up to twelve months.

3. Preferences

Only set if you accept them. These remember small choices so the tool behaves the way you left it — a default aspect ratio, a saved camera preset, a dismissed hint. Typical lifetime up to twelve months.

What we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies. We do not share cookie data with advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not sell it. There is no advertising on this service.

Changing your choice

You can change your mind whenever you like. Accepting and rejecting are the same number of clicks, presented the same way, with neither made harder or less obvious than the other.

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary ones, signing in will stop working.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid instruction to reject non-essential cookies and, where it applies as a legal opt-out, as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information. You do not have to do anything else, and we will not ask you to confirm it.

Third-party cookies

Our analytics provider sets a cookie on our behalf if you accept analytics. Our payment provider may set cookies on its own checkout pages, which are needed to process a payment securely and to detect fraud; those pages are theirs, not ours, and their own privacy notice applies while you are on them. We do not embed advertising, social media widgets or third-party fonts that would set a cookie.
